London Debut: Echo – A Psychological Thriller at King’s Head Theatre!
Prepare for a haunting and unsettling experience as Echo, the critically acclaimed psychological thriller, makes its highly anticipated London debut at the King’s Head Theatre! Following two hugely successful runs at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and 59E69 in New York, this “downright compelling” (Scotsman) play promises to be an unstable, sensual, and unpredictable journey.
Set in a secluded B&B in upstate New York, Echo unfolds across two distinct timelines. In the first, a couple arrives to celebrate their tenth anniversary. The room is romantic, garish, off-kilter, much like her. Unstable, sensual, and unpredictable, she yearns for something dangerous. He’s desperate to please her, but as champagne flows and erotic games escalate, the night spirals into something darker and more surreal, until a baby, a blade, and a secret shatter everything.
Twenty years later, another couple returns to the very same room to scatter her mother’s ashes. But something lingers in the wallpaper, in the fan’s rhythmic hum, in the echoes of the past. She’s never been here before, at least not this version of her… This bold, provocative work thrusts the ethics of reproductive technology, the performance of intimacy, and the terrifying beauty of being made under the microscope for all to see.
